About Bonny

Creating good food is one of the most magical experiences I can think of.  My needs are generally very simple:  good music playing (I’m a moody girl – my kitchen tunes range from Nina Simone to Michael Franti and Spearhead to Ben Taylor to Frank Sinatra), simple, whole food ingredients and kitchen tools that are well made and just feel good in your hands.

Everything about food intrigues me – how it’s grown or raised, how it looks/feels/smells/tastes, how it can be combined with other foods in a unique way and the effect and mood it creates in people.  And yes, I have a particular fondness for foodporn.

Cooking for my family of seven, and all the variances and food restrictions (I avoid gluten; my husband, who had a stroke this past October, needs to avoid corn products, anything with much sugar, and shellfish) that involves, creates a particular challenge on the best of days.  Raising five young foodies is one of my life’s joys.
