Black Bean Chili

This is my go-to easy recipe that impresses everyone. It’s a “cheater recipe” because it really makes itself.  Bravo!  My daughter made this for teacher for a Christmas gift a few years ago and was thanked profusely.  Next week I have to make chili for the elementary school teachers (during conferences) and deliver a dinner to someone else — black bean chili for everyone!

12 oz salsa
3 (15 oz) cans black beans, drained
1/2 c chicken or vegetable broth
1 red bell pepper, chopped

1 onion, chopped
1 tsp cumin
2 tsp chili powder
1 tsp oregano

Add all  ingredients to crock pot and cook on medium for several hours.  Top with plain yogurt and shredded cheese.  Serve with brown rice, tortillas or chips.
